Reed, Ruth M.  
Ruth M. Reed of Sugarcreek died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at her daughter's home following a period of declining health. She celebrated her 99th birthday on April 18th, having been born to the late Arthur C. and Elsie Roth Putt. She was married to the late Glenn E. Reed in June of 1935 and celebrated 41 years of marriage until his death in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Steiner, Thelma Banks, Grace Putt; and a brother, Kenneth Putt. Ruth was a member of the Ragersville Zion United Church of Christ. Her life-long special interests included genealogy, sewing and flower gardening. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Bryan and Janice (Ted) Brown, both of Sugarcreek; grandchildren, Denise (Jason) Mast, Tim Brown, Jennifer Click; great- grandchildren, Jason Ross Mast, Rolland Ted Mast, LaRainne Ruth Mast, Lindsay Renae Brown, Leah Marie Brown, Miranda Nicole Click, Megan Brianne Click; brother, Robert Putt of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Community Hospice for their support and care. Also, a thank you to the church family, neighbors and friends for the prayers and gifts of food, all were greatly appreciated. Honoring her wishes, private graveside services will be held. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements. Rittmaier, Rick W.  
Rick William Rittmaier 55, of Beach City passed away suddenly and unexpectedly July 15, 2015. He was born at Massillon, the son of Vivian Krantz Rittmaier and the late Jack Rittmaier. A 1978 graduate of Fairless High School, he was employed by Belloni Foods, Brewster and formerly of Food-4-Less in Massillon. He will be remembered as a very kind and considerate person and a friend to all he met. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Roderick and Randi (Davis) Rittmaier of Waldenbuch, Germany and a nephew, Erich Rittmaier, also of Waldenbuch, Germany. A celebration service of Rick's life will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in The Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City with Father Robert Kaylor officiating. Rittmaier, Rondal Thomas  
Rondal Thomas Rittmaier 51, of Beach City, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 15, 2015. He was born at Massillon, the son of Vivian Krantz Rittmaier and the late Jack Rittmaier; and had owned and operated R T Rittmaier Metrology Laboratory in Beach City. He was a 1982 graduate of Fairless High School. In addition to his father, he was preceded by brother, Rick Rittmaier. Surviving are his mother; brother, and sister-in-law, Roderick and Randi (Davis) Rittmaier of Waldenbuch, Germany; and one nephew, Erich Rittmaier also of Waldenbuch, Germany. A memorial service for Rondal will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015, in Lantzer Funeral Home with Father Robert Kaylor officiating. Rittmaier, Vivian  
Vivian Christina Rittmaier 88, of Beach City passed away on July 21, 2015, after several years of declining health. She was born at Strasburg on May 17, 1927, the daughter of Zerelda Noftsinger Krantz and Thomas Krantz. She married Jack Rittmaier, of Beach City, on May 04, 1957. A 1945 graduate of Strasburg High School, she was employed for many years by Ohio Bell Telephone Company in Canton. She donated her time freely to the Red Cross, Stark County Board of Elections, and the Altar Rosary Society of the St. Therese Catholic Church in Brewster, where she was a life-long member. Vivian very much enjoyed traveling with her family, having visited every one of the 50 states of the U.S., much of Canada, and many countries in Europe. She exhibited a generous, genuine, and extremely friendly personality, and remained curious throughout her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Lewis Krantz, Theodore Krantz; and sister, Ardyze Malcuit, all of Strasburg; husband, Jack Rittmaier; her sons, Rick Rittmaier and Rondal Rittmaier, of Beach City. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Roderick and Randi (Davis) Rittmaier of Waldenbuch, Germany; and a grandson, Erich Rittmaier, also of Waldenbuch, Germany. Roth, Raymond Glen - Marblehead  
Raymond Glen Roth 93, of Marblehead, Ohio, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Otterbein North Shore. He was born March 26, 1922 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, the son of George and Blanche (Myers) Roth. Ray was a graduate of The Ohio State University where he was President of Alpha Zeta Fraternity. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II. He married Nancy Kovach on Sept. 17, 1949 and she preceded him in death on Aug. 13, 2001. Mr. Roth was an Advertising Executive for The Angus Journal in Webster City, IA. He also was the founder, owner and operator of Castaway Harbor, Marblehead, Ohio. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1718, Port Clinton and the Stanley Jadwisiak Post 7572 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Marblehead, Ohio. Surviving are his daughters: Deborah (William) Lenner of Marblehead, Stephanie (Scott) Bradbee of Bryan, Ohio, Rachael (Richard) Lucas of Port Clinton; daughter-in-law, Mary Jean Roth of Marblehead, Ohio; grandchildren: Jennifer (Eric) Wentzel of Kettering, Ohio, Dr. Julie (Christopher) Lenner-McDonald of Marblehead, Ohio, James (Sarah) Lenner of Johnstown, Ohio, Ashley Bradbee of Columbus, Ohio, Brian (Dr. Lindsay) Bradbee of Bryan, Ohio, Cameron Roth of Medina and Austin Lucas of Port Clinton, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Phil (Nancy) Roth of Gnadenhutten, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Chris Roth; sister, Jean Reifenschneider; brothers, Paul Roth and Neil Roth. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Sherrell, Marjory (Barnet  
"Together Again" Marjory (Barnett) Sherrell Age 89, formerly of Dennison, Ohio, and currently living in Bolivar with her son, Monte and daughter-in-law, Kim, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2015, after a period of declining health. She was born in Uhrichsville on Dec. 20, 1925, to the late James and Ivery (Dokes) Barnett. She retired from BJVS and was a graduate of Uhrichsville high School and attended Wilberforce College. Marjory was a lifelong and active member of the St. John's Worship and Praise Church in Uhrichsville. She was a former Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Missionary Society and the Naomi Chapter #85 Order of the Eastern Star. She devoted her life to caring for her family which included her church family. Her strong faith in God was a comfort to her and an inspiration to all that knew her and loved her. Marjory was married July 3, 1948, to Roosevelt Sherrell, who preceded her in death in 2001. She is survived by three sons: Steve Sherrell of Dennison, Monte Sherrell (Kim Ernest) of Bolivar with whom she resided, and Mitchell Sherrell of Akron; three brothers: Melvin (Juanita) Barnett of Detroit, Otis Barnett of Detroit and Charles (Shirley) Barnett of Moreno Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four god-children; and a host of nieces and nephews. Marjory was preceded in death by her brothers Onesar "Pete" Barnett, James Barnett; sister, Charyleyn Clemons; sisters-in-law, Naomi Barnett, Janice Barnett and Early Barnett; and grandson, Nick Hunter. Funeral services for Marjory will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in the St. John's Worship and Praise Church in Uhrichsville with the Rev. Archie Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery of Uhrichsville. Calling hours will be from 11 to 1 p.m. (two hours prior to services) on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the church. Shook Jr., William Merriel - 3. Brunswick  
William Merriel Shook Jr. 68, of Supply, N.C., passed away on July 22, 2015 at home after a valiant battle with cancer. Bill was born in Bluffton, Ohio on Dec. 26, 1946 the son of the late William M. Shook Sr and Imogen Crawford Shook. Bill graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1965 and Michigan State University in 1969. He was an avid Spartan fan. He worked as an accountant and system analyst for the US General Accounting Office. He served his country in the US Army from 1970-1972. Bill learned service at a young age when he achieved Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He continued that service to the community throughout his life and was always a man of integrity. Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan Courtney Shook; two sisters, Susan Shook Crawford and Virginia Shook O'Haver; nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt in addition to his many friends. Spears Jr., Willie G.  
Willie G. Spears, Jr. 65, of New Philadelphia passed away in the Community Hospice House on July 26, 2015. Born in Memphis, Tenn. on Sept. 20, 1949, he was the son of the late Willie G. and Nellie I. (Alderson) Spears. After completing his formal education, he began his professional career in engineering. Willie enjoyed many rounds on the golf course, shooting, and working on various projects with his best friend, Duck Colvin, during retirement.He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in Alabama. Also tending to his garden and sharing its bounty brought him much joy. On Jan. 1, 2008, William married the former Patricia Lindsay, whom he had met at the Community of Christ Church in New Philadelphia. Together, they grew in their faith and he greatly enjoyed sharing his time and talent with the church. Willie was involved with his Sunday School class, the building committee and spent numerous hours repairing and tending to the church grounds. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia (Lindsay) Spears; his children, Darrell Spears of Arizona, Alicia (Fred) Seymour of Alabama, Bryan (Sharon) Spears of Tennessee, and Carley and Trevor of Seattle, Wash.; his step-daughter, Sarah (Phillip) Burkholder of Brunswick, Ohio.; grandchildren, Jonathan and Chase Spears, and Christopher, Elizabeth, and Logan Seymour; his siblings, Teresa (Doug) Barberry of Maryland, Richard (Pat) Spears, Michael (Janet) Spears, and Glenda (Bart) Robinson, all of Alabama; brothers-in-law, Randy (Nan) Lindsay of Uhrichsville and David Lindsay of Dover; his sister-in- law, Joyce Lindsay of New Philadelphia; his best buddy and cat, Rickey; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his brother, James "Jimmy" Spears. Cremation will be cared for through Geib's Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. A memorial service at the church will be held at a later date. Please remember Willie with a story and a smile. Ralph J. Straker Of Venice, Fla., formerly of Steubenville, Ohio, died peacefully on July 18, 2015. He was 81 years old. Ralph was the husband of Martha Barkett Straker; and the amazing father of Kevin Straker (Cheryl), Barb Straker, Shari Straker Hamlin (Dave), and Amy Straker Bartemes (Brian); as well the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren. Troyer, David M.  
David M. Troyer 72, of 7845 State Route 241, Millersburg, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 27, 2015 in the emergency room of Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg following an apparent heart attack at work. He was born in Holmes County on June 15, 1943 to the late Mose D. and Alta B. (Kuhns) Troyer and married Laura Kathryn Miller on Oct. 17, 1963. She survives. He was employed at Wayne Dalton in Mt. Hope and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Mervin (Katie) Troyer, Edna (Daniel) Miller and Alta (Eli) Miller, all of Millersburg, Betty (Nelson) Kline of Fredericksburg, Elmina (Marvin) Yoder of Dundee, David (Emily) Troyer of Etna Green, Ind., Sarah Troyer of the home, Miriam (Jerry) Yoder of Apple Creek, Marlene (John) Yoder of Fredericksburg, Wilma (Duane) Miller of Fredericksburg, Daniel (Frances) Troyer of the home and Moses (Esther) Troyer of Millersburg; 70 grandchildren' 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Susie Miller of Millersburg and Anna Troyer of Fredericksburg; brothers, Albert (Katie) Troyer of Fredericksburg and Raymond Troyer of Milroy, Ind.; and a sister-in-law, Emma Troyer of Millersburg. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by granddaughters, Laura and Lisa; a brother, Levi Troyer; brother- in-laws, Dan Miller and Ben Troyer; and a sister-in-law, Ella Troyer. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9a.m. at the family residence with Bishop Robert Raber officiating. Burial will follow in the Yoder Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Holmes County.
