Carolyn J. Luthy (Beitzel)
Carolyn J. Garrett-Solley-Luthy, age 76, of Navarre, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Dover, Ohio on Jan. 23, 1937, to the late Frank and Della (Kuhns) Beitzel. Carolyn is a graduate of Stone Creek High School and a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Sylvia and Donald Luthy.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 43 years, Eugene "Gene" Luthy; her daughters, Arlena Price, Monica (Wesley) Clark, and Terri (Randy) Hutchison; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Sally (Bill) Sexton, of Canal Fulton and Rhonda L. Beitzel, of Ashtabula; brothers, Ivan D. (Ada) Beitzel, of Zoarville, Frank W. (Maggie) Beitzel, Jr. of Sumter, S.C., and Ronnie L. Beitzel, of Dover; brothers and sisters-in-law, Will (Arlene) Uptegraph, of New Philadelphia, Roy (Donna) Trimmer, of Dallestown, Pa., Robert (Judy) Luthy, of Dover, and Richard Luthy, of Newport, N.C.; many nieces and nephews, especially Rob and Lisa Vanatta, whom Carolyn helped raise; many friends, and her special aunt, Helen Kuhns. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aultman Hospital, especially Dr. Vemulapalli and staff and the radiation and infusion center for their kind and compassionate care of Carolyn during her illness, and a special thank you to Bro. Bill McGovern.
There are no services or calling hours planned. Memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn's name to Aultman Hospice (2821 Woodlawn Ave. NW Canton, OH 44708). Arrangements under the direction of Ohio Cremation and Professional Services (330-438-1745) Mark R. Vrabel Funeral Home, North Canton.
