79, of Bolivar, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at 4:38 p.m. in the Cleveland Clinic of complications from a stroke. Born Aug. 25, 1933 in Canton he was a son of the late A. Albert and Margaret (Tewanger) Halter. He was employed in manufacturing in the steel industry. His passions were the love of his family, being outdoors and bringing out the beauty of everything he touched. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Anne Udeck whom he married Nov. 24, 1956. Also surviving are two sons, Joseph (Brenda) Halter of Uhrichsville and Jeff (Pam) Halter of Chardon; and a daughter, Kelli Halter (Mark Masters) of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Courtney (Doug) Edwards, Cody Halter (companion, Jessica Lupi), Cory Halter (companion, Heather Fox), Chase Halter and Olivia Halter; a sister, Louise (Larry) Huffman of Chandler, Ariz.; mother-in-law, Ann Udeck of Canton; and brother-in-law, Andrew J. (Shirley) Udeck of Canton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Halter and a brother, James Halter.
Private services for the family will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Lebold-Smith Funeral Home at 1018 W.
