Evadean "Pooch" Shalosky
age 71, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly while recovering from a recent hospitalization, on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Gables Care Center in Hopedale. She battled numerous chronic health conditions for many years. Evadean was born in Stillwater, to Ernest and Zelma (Bartlett) McDaniel and was nicknamed Pooch at a very early age. She graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1959. On December 12, 1959, Evadean married Charles Shalosky and they had four children. Pooch was a homemaker and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in a variety of school and sporting events. She also enjoyed family gatherings, playing bingo and penny poker. Evadean was an avid crossword puzzle solver and took joy in talking with family and friends on the phone. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Evadean was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2004, whom she lovingly cared for in his final years. Also preceded by her parents and siblings, Merle McDaniel, Madeline Naylor and Eva Morris.
She is survived by her children, Robert "Ski" Shalosky of Dennison, Lora (Derek) Millan of Toronto, Canada, Anthony (Monti) Shalosky of Warsaw and Amy (John) Fedyna of Fountain Hills, Ariz. Also survived by grandchildren, BJ (Courtney) and family, Kyle (Jamie) and family, Lucas (Caroline Stull), Bryan and family, Nicole and family, Jacob, Brett, Kailyn and Meredith. In addition, three siblings, Russ McDaniel, Jack McDaniel and Janet Hunker; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan and Tyson Shalosky.
Funeral services for Pooch will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. with Father Anthony Lonzo officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Dennison. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 and one hour prior to services on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the funeral home. The family would like to extend special thanks to Ember Complete Care and their staff. In lieu of floral arrangements, Pooch had a love of yellow roses. If so inclined, please consider bringing a yellow rose to be displayed at calling hours and to decorate her final resting place, alongside Charles, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Dennison. A luncheon will be held at the Dennison Eagles after services.
