James Zellar White
age 83, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Beacon Pointe Rehab Center in Uhrichsville. Born July 30, 1929 at Freeport, Ohio, he was the son of the late James and Mary Alice (Lynn) White. In 1947, he graduated from Uhrichsville High School and was a United States Army veteran. For 25 years, James was employed as a Uhrichsville Fireman, where he was a Lieutenant. James was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the FOE Dennison and the Tuscarawas VFW. His past hobbies included golf, fishing, hunting, bowling, fishing tournaments with this son-in-law, Chuck and later in life fishing with his grandson, Connor and his dog Sammy.
James was a loving husband, father and grandfather, leaving behind his wife, Corinne Louise (Dunn) White, whom he married July 29, 1953; his children, Gary Kevin (Melody) White of Uhrichsville, Carla Jan (Charles) Gowins of Tuscarawas and Adam James (Deborah) White of Leesville; his five grandchildren, Amanda Cox, Justine (Justin) Beckley, Connor White, Jacob and Collin White; and great-grandsons, Mason Cox and Reid Beckley.
Calling hours will be from 11 to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013, with funeral services immediately following at 1 p.m. at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Mark Unrue officiating. The Uhrichsville Firemen will conduct services at 12:30. Burial will follow funeral services at Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663 and the Uhrichsville Fireman's Auxiliary.
