Karen Annette Heavilin
age 48, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, following an extended illness. Born May 22, 1965 in Dennison, Ohio, Karen is the daughter of Harvey and Nancy (Haskins) Conway of Uhrichsville.
Also surviving is her husband, whom she married July 27, 1995, Richard E. Heavilin of the home; mother-in-law Mary Ann (Robert James) Harshey of Uhrichsville; brother Mike (Laura) Conway of Delaware, Ohio; brother-in- laws Dustin Harshey, Michael P., Jason and Christopher Heavilin and their families; numerous nieces, nephews, god daughters and extended family and friends. Karen is preceded in death by her grandparents; father-in-law Roy "Sonny" Heavilin Jr.; uncle James Conway and aunt Dawna Conway.
Karen was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Claymont High School in 1983. She graduated from Tusco Beauty School. Karen made homemade soaps, bath salts and cigar box purses.
Funeral services for Karen will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Carolyn Behrendt officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. (three hours prior to services), at the funeral home.
