Leonard J. Gregor
81, of Amsterdam, a proud and loving father and grandfather, passed away Thursday afternoon June 20, 2013 in Trinity Medical Center West following an extended illness. A son of the late Joseph and Mary Danko Gregor, he was born Feb. 21, 1932 in Wolf Run, Ohio. Leonard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and held a membership in the Amsterdam VFW.
He is survived by three daughters, Elaine Rutledge of Bergholz, Janis (Joe) Christie of Allen, Texas, Lori (Shane) Statler of New Philadelphia, Ohio; five grandchildren, Emilee Rutledge, Preston Smith, Dylan Statler, Cameron Christie, Nathan Christie; three devoted and loving brothers, Paul "Red" (Helen) Gregor, Nelson (Elaine) Gregor, Edward Gregor; sister, Darlene (Bob) Guess; sister-in-law, Carol "Cookie" (Fritz) Milligan; and special friend, Donna Bendle. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, the former Joan Moreland, and a son-in-law, Mark Rutledge.
In accordance with Leonard's wishes a private memorial service will be held.
