Lloyd R. Opphile
82, of Port Washington, Ohio, died Saturday, Dec, 14, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born April 17, 1931 in Newcomerstown, Ohio to the late Walter Ray and Cora (Moore) Opphile. He was a Korean War U.S. Marine veteran. He retired from Tusco Manufacturing of Gnadenhutten.
On Jan. 5, 1951, he married Frances (Kenney) Opphile, who survives. Also surviving is one son, David Lee Opphile of Dennison; one daughter, Tracy Marie Opphile and fiance, Frank Twardoski of Dover; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Gladys Wilson, Thelma Kenney, Beatrice Matthews, Charles Opphile, Harold Opphile, and Robert (Nola) Opphile, all of Newcomerstown, Carol Ann (Steve) Everhart of Mt. Vernon, and Donald (Florence) Opphile of Port Washington. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Sue Paisley who died July 13, 2002 and Susan Opphile, who died in 1969.
Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Addy Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Silverthorne officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Port Washington. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard. Lloyd was a very special husband, father, and grandfather we all love very much and will sadly miss. We will miss all the laughs he has given us in the things he said and stories he told.
