A memorial service celebrating the life of Marilyn Lukens Beall, age 89, of Scio, who died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 in Sunnyslope Nursing Home, Bowerston will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 at noon in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Rev. Jack Visser officiating.
Born Aug. 7, 1923 in Jewett she was a daughter of the late Ernest Cornelius Lukens and Lina Lillian Turner Lukens. A 1942 graduate of Jewett High School, she worked at the Scio Pottery for many years. Marilyn was a member of the Jewett VFW #3072 Auxiliary and the former Scio Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing cards with the ladies in "Card Club", taking trips to casinos and on riverboats but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Edward Merryman; second husband, George Edward Beall; her daughter, Lynn Maria Merryman Yoss; a brother, James B. Lukens; and a brother-in-law, Alvoid Dallas.
Surviving are her stepson, John Beall of Beverly; son-in-law, James Yoss of Scio; grandson, James Edward (Megan) Yoss of Stephenville, Texas; great-grandson, Wyatt James Yoss; sister, Helen Bee Dallas of San Dimas, Calif.; brother, Ernest David Lukens (Flora) of Lancaster; sister-in-law, Maxine (Jim) Lukens of North Canton; two cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
