Pauline E. "Polly" Blanc
Age 96, of East Canton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 in Walnut Hills Nursing Home. She was born March 25, 1916 in Canton to the late Harry and Edith (Bohlen) Harter. Polly was a graduate of East Canton High School and Cleveland Academy of Cosmetology. She was a life resident of East Canton and retired from Osnaburg Local Schools in 1978 after 13 years of service and operated the former East Canton Beauty Shop. Polly was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ where she was active in the church choir, Mary Martha Circle and a Sunday school teacher. She was a past member of the former East Canton Women's Civic Club.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Emerson L. "Eric" Blanc in 1998 to whom she was married 55 years; three brothers, Edward, Raymond and Donald Harter; two sisters, Dorothy Mitchell and Dolores Sell. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Gary Sterrett of Sherrodsville, Pamela Blanc of Los Angeles, Calif., Diana and Jeff Spaulding of East Canton; four grandchildren, Eric (Eviana) Broucek of Los Angeles, Ian Broucek (fiancé, Rachel) of Los Angeles, Elizabeth Spaulding of Cleveland Heights and Grace Spaulding of East Canton; one sister, June Sturgeon of Louisville.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Rev. James W. Painting officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
