Shirley M. Meese Green Bercaw
age 78, of New Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Union Hospital in Dover. Born April 16, 1935, in Brightwood, Ohio, Shirley was the daughter of the late Jiggs and Lula (Kinsey) Meese.
Shirley graduated from Midvale High School. She was formerly employed at Goodings IGA in Uhrichsville, Dover Hardware, Hartzler Housing and most recently she was still employed, cleaning for Miller and Miller Insurance. Shirley also had a catering business for 10 years known as Bercaw Catering. She was a lifelong resident of the area who enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, watching the World Series Little League on TV, making candy at Christmas and attending all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events.
Shirley is survived by her children, Bob (Cynde) Green of Dennison and Vicky Myers of Uhrichsville; two step-children Doug (Pam) Bercaw of Strasburg and Linda Bales; brother James (Saundra) Meese of New Philadelphia; sister Sue (David) Paisley of Strasburg; daughter-in-law Janet Green of Uhrichsville; six grandchildren B.J. (Rebecca) Green, Chad (Lisa) Green, Tiffany (Jason) Crutchfield, Tabitha (John) Affolter, Mandy Green and Michelle Myers all of Uhrichsville; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three step-grandchildren Corey (Jaclyn) Bercaw of New Philadelphia, Chanda (Ronnie) Miller of Dover and Jennifer (Micheal) Hunt of Columbus; 10 step-great-grandchildren and best friends Isabelle Denzer and Bev Neisinger. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her first husband Robert Green who passed away in 1975; her second husband Raymond Bercaw who passed away in 2007; a son John Allen Green who passed away in 2006; a grandson John Myers and a step-grandson Shaun Bales.
Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. John Clark officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Dennison. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the
