93, of Dover died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at Union Hospital. Born Dec. 15, 1919 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Leo and Nellie Howell Soley. Doris was also preceded in death by her husband, Max E. Espenschied on Oct. 1, 1990 and an infant son, Jerry Espenschied. Doris was an active member of the Dover First Moravian Church, the Women's Fellowship and was a long time Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters, White Shrine and the Dover American Legion Auxiliary.
Doris will be sadly missed by her children, Melanie Espenschied of Dover, Larene Francis of Sagamore Hills and Holly Espenschied of Hilliard; grandchildren, Jeff and Jerry Evans, Michelle Jackson and Wendi Callam; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Juliette, Christy, Megan, Haley and Max; and three great-great-grandchildren, Penelope, Mila and Bay.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. in the Dover First Moravian Church with Pastor John Wallace officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the church one-hour prior to the services on Monday. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
