Verda Wright Obituary

Verda F. (Meek) Wright, 76, of Newcomerstown, O., passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge, O., from complications of diabetes.
Born Nov. 13, 1933, near Gilmore, O., she was a daughter of the late Walter Frederick and Hilda Marie (Sanders) Meek.
Verda was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who loved looking after her children and extended family which included her beloved dog, Gidget. She also had worked for eight years at Perry Rubber Co. in Massillon, followed by eight years at Apple Creek Developmental Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her previous spouse, Robert G. Wright, and a number of siblings.
In keeping with Verda's specific wishes, there will be no public funeral service held. Those wishing to pay their final respects to Verda may do so from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Charitable contributions honoring Verda's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
