Dwain E. Sanders
80, of Newcomerstown, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Riverside Manor Nursing & Rehab. Center Newcomerstown. He was born Sunday, May 01, 1932 in Tuscarawas County to the late Delbert Frank and Clara Elizabeth 'Goshorn' Sanders. He was a 1951 Newcomerstown high school graduate, He was a US Army Korean War veteran serving from Sept. 25, 1952 until Sept. 24, 1954. He retired from the former General Tire in 1995 after 38 years in the Maintenance Dept.. He was a member of the Countryside Baptist Church, Keystone Saddle Club, Ohio Wagon Train Assoc., United Wagon Train Assoc. He enjoyed farming and his horses, having breakfast at Cy Young lanes with his friends, word search puzzles and spending time with his family and grandchildren. On Friday, July 08, 1955 he married Shirley A. 'Fillman' Sanders who died May 14, 2004.
He is survived by one daughter, Beth Taylor and her husband Jim of Guernsey; three sons, Randy Sanders and his wife Brenda, Jeff Sanders, Richard Sanders and his wife Beth all of Newcomerstown; 10 grandchildren, Ryan and Logan Taylor, Alexes, Kaitlyn, Jayson and Julia Sanders, Kellie Young, Nicole Andrews, Dustin and Devin Murray; two brothers, Harold and Chuck Sanders both of San Antonio, Texas, and his best friend Peanut the Beagle. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Sanders, one sister Norma Brown and one nephew Lester Brown.
Services will be Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home with Pastors Patrick Boyle and Gary Edmunds officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Newcomerstown Veteran Honor Guard.
