Earl James "Jim" Miller
74 of Millersburg died Friday, March 7, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton following an extended illness. He was born Feb. 1, 1940 in Holmes County to the late John H.N. and Sylvia (Mullet) Miller. Jim is retired from the Holmes County Highway Dept. where he was Road Superintendent.
He is survived by his wife, the former Betty R. Yoder whom he married Dec. 18, 1959; his children, Karl S. (Nila) Miller of Berlin, Scott A. Miller of Clark and Norma (Greg) Lehman of Millersburg; six grandchildren, Sabrina, Shane and Shelby Miller and Kelsey (Brandon) Grassbaugh, Colton and Clay Lehmanp; great-grandson, Noah Grassbaugh and he was awaiting the arrival of his second great-grandchild in the next few months; and siblings, Melva Wengerd of Winesburg, Willard (Nora) Miller of West Lafayette and Elsie (Roy) Beachy of Nappanee, Ind. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Miller and his sister, Orpha Miller.
Services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 10 a.m. at United Day Spring Church at Berlin with Phil Wengerd officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
