Harold V. Kinsey
Age 94, of East Canton, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 in Altercare of Louisville following a brief illness. He was born June 16, 1919 in Old Town Valley, New Philadelphia, Ohio. He was the seventh of thirteen children born to the late Charles and Mary (Stuckey) Kinsey. Harold was a 1937 graduate of Gnadenhutten High School. He was a WWII Army veteran serving from 1942-1945 where he saw action in Africa, Sicily and Italy. Harold retired from Babcock Wilcox Company as a machinist in 1981 after 30 years of service. Harold was an East Canton resident since 1954. He and his wife, Bernice owned and operated Kinsey Dairy Farm near Mapleton. On the farm they enjoyed life and instilled in their families, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a love of the simple country life. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and B & W retirees.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice in 2012. He is survived by four children, Alvin Kinsey of East Canton, Louise and John Seidel of East Canton, Diane and Steven Nowakowski of Snellville, Ga., Vernon and Rebecca Kinsey of East Canton; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joy Light of New Philadelphia and Jeannie Denny of Missouri.
Funeral services will be Monday, (today) Dec. 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. Interment in Mapleton Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday (today) 4-6 p.m. and one hour before services on Monday (10-11 a.m.). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ at 306 W.
