Bishop Jacob J. Keim
85, of 8972 CR 186, Dundee, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at Aultman Hospital in Canton. He was born in Holmes County on Feb. 15, 1929 to the late Jonas A. and Edna L. (Schlabach) Keim and married Fannie L. Miller Nov. 28, 1950. She died March 8, 1957. On November 13, 1958, he married Fannie A. Miller. She died June 23, 2006. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church where he was ordained a Minister in 1977 and a Bishop in 1979.
He is survived by children, Wayne (Darlene) Keim of Dundee, Edna Mae (Noah) Miller of Dundee and Wes (Shirley) Keim of the home; a daughter-in-law, Linda Keim of Fredericksburg; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Andy (Joy) Keim of British Columbia, Roman (Clara) Keim of Berlin and Atlee (Sarah) Keim of Apple Creek; sisters, Mary Yoder of Dundee and Ann Miller of Wooster. In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a son, Leroy; and a daughter, Linda.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. at the family residence with Bishop Joe Miller Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Keim Cemetery, Paint Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the family home. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
