Janice Lee Cable
82, of Dennison, was called home to Heaven on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from Parkview Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, Ind. after a sudden illness. Born July 27, 1931 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late William Marion and Lurah Gwendolyn (Renicker) Witting. A lifelong resident of Dennison, Janice was a graduate of Dennison High School in the class of 1949. She was employed in the dietary department at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center (the former Twin City Healthcare Center) in Uhrichsville for over 20 years and had also worked at the H.L. Green Five and Dime in Uhrichsville for a time. Janice enjoyed camping with her grandchildren at Atwood each year for the Fall Festival, and loved to travel with her family, especially to the Outer Banks. She was an avid supporter of Claymont sports who faithfully listened to Mel Peters on WBTC when she couldn't attend the games. She loved it when he would say "It's time to put the dogs in the truck." When her health allowed, Janice attended Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship to worship her Savior and meet her many friends.
On Oct. 14, 1950 at Park Christian Church in Dennison, Janice married her high school sweetheart, Donald David Cable, who survives her at their home. She is also survived by their son, Burt (Sue Ann) Cable of Tuscarawas; daughter, Suzanne (Brock) Davis of Uhrichsville; grandchildren, Nathan (Shannon) Davis, Jeremy (Neeley) Davis, Jordan (companion, Daniel Noall) Cable, Caitlin Lee (fiancé, Vaughn Stull) Cable, Jennifer (Brent) Jones, Jessica Murphy and Keith O'Hara; great-grandchildren, Brooke Elizabeth Davis, Elah Elizabeth Davis, Landyn Jones and Jackson Murphy; sisters, Eleanor Wanosik, Mary Palandrani and Almeda Pocock; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Craig.
Services for Janice, officiated by Pastor Jimmy Stull, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville's Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Claymont Booster Club.
