78, of Trenton, Fla., formerly of New Philadelphia and Uhrichsville, passed away at her home on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013. Born April 19, 1935 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late Albert L. "Abe" Craft and Eva S. (Severn) Craft Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Iona Craft. June grew up in the Uhrichsville where she attended Uhrichsville High School and was a member of Newport United Methodist Church. She was employed in the dietary departments of Twin City Hospital and Union Hospital for many years and will also be remembered for the years that she supervised the Uhrichsville swimming pool.
On April 19, 1953, June married Ralph E. Edwards with whom she enjoyed nearly 48 years of marriage until his passing on March 9, 2001. They are survived by two sons, Greg Edwards and Gary (companion, Lisa) Edwards of Uhrichsville; three daughters, Gaylene (Richard) Breehl of Midvale, Pam (Homer) Garcia of Gillette, Wyo. and Amy (Andy) Staneart of Dennison; eight grandchildren, Jim Hizer, Jason Edwards, Rebekah Edwards, Tiffany Castello-Akers, Makenzie Staneart, Lenzie Staneart, Crystal Davis and Greg Davis; and numerous great-grandchildren. June is also survived by her sister, Pat Edwards of Trenton, Fla., and many nieces and nephews. A resident of Trenton, Fla. for nearly two decades, June was a member of Chiefland First United Methodist Church, Chiefland Country Club and the Fanning Springs Ladies of the Moose. She cherished the time that she spent with her family and especially enjoyed going out to eat with her sister.
Services for June, officiated by Pastor Lyle Warren, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville's Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
