Kathryn Donohoe
80, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia following a short period of declining health. Kathryn was born on Aug. 25, 1932, in Bridgeport, Ohio; the sixth of eight children of the late Angelo and Elizabeth (Angelo) Campisi. She moved to the Twin Cities area while a teenager and graduated from Dennison High School in 1950. Kathryn was married to the late Michael J. Donohoe on Sept. 29, 1951, and devoted the rest of her life to their children and grandchildren. She was a voracious reader of books and magazines and enjoyed playing cards with family and completing crossword puzzles. Her homemade Italian and American dishes were the centerpiece of family gatherings until the time of her passing. She was a lifelong Catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison.
Kathryn was the last living Campisi of her generation, being preceded in death by sisters, Mary, Frances, and Janie; and brothers, Paul, Gaspar, James, and Anthony. Her beloved husband of 56 years, Michael, passed away on Feb. 3, 2008. She is survived by her four children, David Donohoe of Dennison, Debra Henry and her companion, Joe DiDonato, of New Philadelphia, Michelle Dukles and husband, Marc, of Brunswick, Ohio, and Cindy McConnell of Dennison; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her darling cat, Daisy.
A service, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held on Monday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery near Dennison.
