Kathy S.
59, of Dover passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of James "Jim" A. Hasseman for nearly 37 years.
Kathy was born on May 4, 1954 in Dennison, OH, daughter of Kathryn Burdette. She was a 1972 graduate of Claymont High School, where she was a cheerleader. While she was raising their family, Kathy also worked part time at several places, including her most recent employment with Rhodes Dental for over a decade until she became sick. Kathy enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially if it involved shopping. Her other interests included decorating, card games, visiting garage sales on the weekend, dancing, and playing cornhole. She was also an avid sports fan, always watching the Buckeyes, Browns, and Cavaliers. For those that knew her best, she will always be remembered by her smile that never left no matter what life brought her way. She had a gift that will continue to inspire many people through her displays of kindness, patience, courage, and determination.
As Kathy begins her new journey with the Lord, she is survived here by her loving husband Jim; her daughter, Jamie (Jeremy) Dziczkowski and their children Joshua and Jillian Dziczkowski; her grandchildren, Dylan Ward, Taydum Hasseman, Landen Hasseman; her mother, Kathryn Burdette; her brothers, Larry (Susan) Mosher and Jim (Lori) Burdette; her sister, Lori (Mike) Parker; mother-in-law, Patty Hasseman; brothers-in-law, Rod (Chris) Hasseman, Bob (Debbie) Hasseman, and Steve (Shelley) Hasseman; sisters-in-law, Jill Wagner and Jan Hasseman; special friends, Jenna Waggoner, Melissa Ward, and Lyndsey Root, and numerous nieces and nephews.
