A son of Douglas and Yvonne Mutschelknaus and a brother to Erika, Mason was born July 11, 1989 in Union Hospital at Dover. Mason graduated from Garaway High School in 2008. He was an avid runner, greatly enjoying participating on the school's track and cross country teams. Mason then enrolled at the University of Akron studying mechanical engineering technology. He was honored as an Emerging Leader for the school's honors college his freshman year. He also served as a resident assistant for two years, providing leadership and support to incoming and current students. For the past year, Mason worked part-time at Allied Machine and Engineering in Dover as a manufacturing engineer. Mason's free time was spent with his family and friends. He loved to talk and laugh about his elaborate plans for his future. Other conversations centered around cars, sports, and movies. He loved life, no matter who he was with or what situation was at hand. He had a great deal of zest and passion which was felt by everyone who knew him.
