Pauline and George Smith, Sr.
Pauline Florence Smith
age 83, of Uhrichsville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover, following a period of declining health. Born May 7, 1930, at Coshocton, Ohio, Pauline was the daughter of the late Andrew and Florence (Johnson) Getchey. Through the years, Pauline was employed at the Brown Derby, Rod's Donuts, Uhrichsville Eagles and the Waterford Sub Pub. She was a member of the Uhrichsville Foursquare Church, past president and secretary of the state officers of the Uhrichsville Eagles along with participating in the Lady Eagles. Pauline enjoyed bingo, baking and hanging wallpaper. She was always a hard worker.
Pauline in survived by her son Dennis Dean Smith of Dover; her sister Alice (Robert) Doolin of Port Washington; three grandchildren Heather M. Smith of Coshocton, Kyle W. Smith of Dover and Tina M. Smith of New Philadelphia and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Pauline is preceded in death by her husband George R. Smith Sr., her son George R. "Ray" Smith Jr., her siblings Walter, Frank, Clarence and Richard Getchey, Dorothy Getchey, Della Everhart, Margaret Galbraith and Mary L. Meese.
Funeral services for Pauline will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Roger Deardorff officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, O., 44663 The family would like to extend their gratitude and thank the staff and employees of Country Club Retirement Campus for their hospitality and excellent care given to Pauline during her time there.
