Robert Allen Snedeker
age 69 of Dover, died at 11:07 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014 in Amberwood Manor Nursing Home, New Philadelphia, Ohio. Born in Freeport, Ohio on July 16, 1944, he was a son of the late John William Snedeker and Dorothy Lee Barrett Snedeker. He was a 1965 graduate of Uhrichsville High School. He was a US Army Veteran where he was a train engineer, serving from 1961 to 1964. He was employed by Tusco Glass in Dover until they closed, then he worked for Glazier Union of Stark County till he became disabled in 1990. He loved to play Solitaire on his computer and have coffee with friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Wendy Preston of Midvale and Sheri (Jeremy) Farmer of Moraine; three grandsons, Ethan Preston, Adam Preston, and Arrin Preston; two brothers, Larry Snedeker of Uhrichsville and Paul (Linda) Snedeker of Arizona; four sisters, Jean Bardall of Strasburg, Dorothy (Bill) Gray of Hillard, Linda (Terry) Scott of Uhrichsville, and Donna Brick of Strasburg; several nieces and nephews, and special friends the Van Meter.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S. High Street, Freeport with Pastor Jim McConnell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County or Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
