Sue Arnold Obituary

Sue E. Arnold, 65, of Uhrichsville, O., will be sadly missed by family and friends after passing suddenly on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, O., following a long, courageously fought illness.

Born June 1, 1944, in Bellaire, O., she was a daughter of the late Clarence Franklin "Bud" and Mildred Lucille (Grant) Applegarth.

Sue was a graduate of Conotton Valley High School in the class of 1962 and had been a local resident for most of her life. She is well remembered for her service as a waitress and tavern tender at several restaurants, diners and taverns throughout the area. Sue was also a loving mother and grandmother whose happiest times were when she was spending time with her grandsons.

Sue is survived by three daughters, Kristal Arnold and Nicole Fellers of the home and Bobbie Sue Fellers of Uhrichsville; two grandsons, Jordon Armstrong of the home and Keegan Garabrandt of Uhrichsville; and her beloved canine companion, who was like a third grandson to her, Joey.

She is also survived by a sister, Judy Royer and her husband, Dale, of Dennison; two brothers, Clarence "Pete" Applegarth and his wife, Kay, and Brian Applegarth, all of New Philadelphia; a sister-in-law, Norma Applegarth of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jack Applegarth; a brother, Robert Applegarth; an infant sister, Kathleen Applegarth; and her first husband, Tom Carmen.

Services for Sue, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Douglas Downs, will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sue's family in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home to help defray the cost of her final expenses.

Sue was one of the best mothers I have ever known. She always did anything she could to make sure her family was taken care of, and if someone told her something could not be done she would fight them tooth and nail to make sure it was done for her family. I will always be proud that she was my cousin and I know that God will be so glad to have someone like her in Heaven with him. The suffering for Sue is over now, and she can now be pain free and at peace.
