Thomas R. Evans
In loving memory of Thomas R. Evans, age 59, who lost his lengthy battle with cancer on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012. Tom was a long-time resident of Beach City. He was formerly employed by Republic Steel in Canton where he worked for nearly thirty years as a welder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben D. and Dolly (Cline) Evans, and his sister, Cecilia Paugh. Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Linda; his oldest son, Pete (Lewis) Sampsel and daughter-in-law, Teressa, of Brewster; his daughter, Nichole, and son-in-law, Dale Keffer Jr., of Strasburg; and his youngest son, Benjamin T. Evans, of Beach City; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Dane Fritz of Canton; and June Spina; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grand daughter, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his wife, his children, and especially his grandchildren, doing different activities such as camping and fishing at Tappan Lake. He enjoyed playing cards and horseshoes, bowling, and shooting pool. He loved working with his father and sons doing extensive automotive work. His favorite vacation getaways included trips with his wife to Las Vegas and West Virginia.
Tom was an amazing man, always willing to go out of his way to help those in need regardless of the situation. He touched the lives of so many people and will be dearly missed.
