Trudy Dolzine

74, of Dover, died peacefully with her family by her side, following a period of declining health on Friday, June 8, 2018 in Maplewood at Twinsburg, Senior Living Center in Twinsburg, Ohio. A daughter of the late Gerhard and Margaret (Bandi) Winzer, Trudy was born April 11, 1944 in Washington D.C. Trudy graduated from Dover High School in 1962 and that same year she was named the Sugarcreek Swiss Festival Queen. On May 25, 1963, Trudy married Jerry Dolzine at Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia and together they raised three children, Connie, David and Brian. The couple shared 47 years of marriage prior to Jerry's passing on Feb. 4, 2011. Jerry's professional career took them briefly to Topeka, Kan., and then to Ellet, Ohio. After living eight years in Ellet, and 19 years in Norton, Trudy and Jerry moved back to Dover in 1993. Upon their return to Dover, the couple owned and operated the Fundays Rootbeer stand for 10 years. Trudy also served as an administrative assistant in the office of Dr. Lonsdorf in Akron and as beloved receptionist for Headz and Nailz in New Philadelphia for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Dan) Zook of Heath, Texas; her sons, David (Dorrine) Dolzine of McKinney, Texas and Brian (Amy) Dolzine of Aurora, Ohio; her grandchildren, Jackie (Ryan) Cauley, Sydnie Dolzine, Lucy Dolzine and Beatrice Dolzine; her great-grandson, Carson Cauley; a sister, Joanne (Jim) Porter of Saline, Mich; a brother, Roland (Kay Hoffman) Winzer of Hudson, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Janice Smith of North Canton, Ohio and Cathy (Tom) Ketterer of Cold Springs, Ky., and a brother-in-law, Theodore (Gwyn) Dolzine of Havre de Grace, Md.
