V. Jane Couts
91, of Dover, Ohio died Friday, February 21, 2014 at Community Hospice House, New Philadelphia. She was born Feb. 19, 1923 in Goshen, Ohio to the late Otis E. and Essie (O'Brien) Simmons. She was a 1941 Tuscarawas High School graduate. She was a housewife and had previously worked at GE and as a bookkeeper at Lee Freight Lines in Dover. She was a member of Faith Christian Church of New Philadelphia. She was a member of the Oriental Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Newcomerstown.
She is survived by two sons, Jim A. McDonald and his wife, Nancy of Dover, Ron L. McDonald and his wife, Carol of Massillon; grandchildren, Jody and Eric Niklaus, Thomas and Eilleen McDonald; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Delaney Niklaus, Colin and Sydney McDonald, Brooke Morgan; caregiver and friend, Dana Parsons, long time friends, Howard and Phyllis Clawson; nieces and nephews, Charlene Watson, Gary and Joan Caviness, and Patty and Dana Moore. She was preceded in death by one brother, Otis Simmons Jr.; two sisters, Martha Mathias and Maxine Lahm.
Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Faith Christian Church, New Philadelphia with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Private burial will take place at a later time. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tusc.
