Elsie E. Webber
age 95, a former resident of Deer Road S.W., Bowerston, Ohio died Wednesday night, April 2, 2014 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.,
She was born Sept. 2, 1918 in Jewett, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Lula Anna Turney Kimmel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas W. Webber, who died October 20, 1982, and six brothers and two sisters.
Elsie was primarily a homemaker and was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church at Bowerston where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She was a former member of the Conotton Valley Senior Citizens and the Modern Woodmen of America. During World War II, Elsie worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" in a defense plant in California.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Larry and Beverly Webber of Bowerston and Richard and Joan Webber of Clyde, Ohio;, her seven grandchildren Joe and Molly Webber of Sherrodsville, Ohio, Rhonda and John Biechler, Donny and Jeannie Shuss, and Jessica Shuss, all of Bowerston, Steve Webber of Manassas, Va., and James Webber and Cyndi Weller, both of Clyde, Ohio; and 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Hammet of Cumming, Ga.; and a brother, Clarence Kimmel of Tucson, Ariz.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Pastor Tom Dawson officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be held Monday from 11 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home.
