John "Bert" Mann
age 75, of Carrollton, Ohio, died Friday afternoon, April 4, 2014 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a brief illness. He was born Oct. 19, 1938 in New Philadelphia, Ohio and was the son of the late Darl Lee Mann and Georgia Morgan Mann. Bert was currently employed in the oil and gas industry in Carrollton. He was previously employed at GBS Filing Systems at Malvern, served as a Trooper for the Ohio State Patrol from 1960 through 1966, and was employed as a Senior Advisor for Continental Insurance in Canton. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had served as Ambassador for the Tadmor Temple to Carroll County, and was currently a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his long-time companion, Linda L. Shepherd of Carrollton; his four children, Mrs. Kevin (Kim) Stoller and Michael K. (Betty) Mann, both of Carrollton, Tami Mann-Reed of Minerva, Ohio, Mrs. Tim (Karen) Thompson of Carrollton; a brother, Gerald (Janie) Mann of Magnolia, Ohio, a half- brother, Greg Willis of Navarre, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Mrs. Ben (Tracey) Penrod of Carrollton, Michael Lee of Cleveland, Ohio, K. W. Stoller of Carrollton, Chelsi, Christian, and Laurynn Mann, all of Carrollton, Mrs. Franklin (T. J.) Monk of Minerva, and Jonathan Thompson of Carrollton, and his three great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Brayden and Evan.
