Melva L. Williams
79, of Port Washington, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at Community Hospice House, New Philadelphia. She was born Tuesday, Dec. 25, 1934, in Tuscarawas County to the late Lewis A. and Ada 'McKinney' Little. She was a Newcomerstown High School graduate. She was a Farmers Wife, and a member of the Buckhorn Grange. She enjoyed gardening and loved her animals. Melva was well known for her wedding cake decorating and flower arranging at Kobels and Fox Nursery. On Thursday, Oct. 4, 1951, she married Alva Ray Williams who died on Nov. 1, 2013.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Mahaffey and companion George Topovski of Port Washington, Jeannie Rehard and husband Bob of Newcomerstown; grandchildren, Rusty Shull and Laken Danhke and husband Nathan, Robert Rehard III, Ashley S. Bryant; great-grandchildren: Tanner Danhke, Makayla Ray Rehard, Amarallis Grace Demos; son-in-law, Rich Stocker of Port Washington; two brothers, Gene (Norma) Little of New Phila., and John (Sara) Little of Port Washington; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Waldene Kay Stocker; and granddaughter, Alyssa Mae Shull.
Services will be Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Shank officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, May 10, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Port Washington, where a graveside committal and veterans services conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor guard will be held for her late husband, Alva Ray Williams. There will be a fellowship dinner at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Newcomerstown following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tusc.
