Irene E. Linder

Age 88, of North Canton, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, in Stow Glen Retirement Center in Kent, Ohio. She was born in Magnolia, a daughter of the late Karl and Azalia (Finefrock) Wanner, and had been a North Canton resident since 1983. Irene was a 1943 graduate of Magnolia High School. She had been a bookkeeper for the A. R. Elson Co., Colton Hardware Co., Stark Federal Credit Union, and had been proprietor of the Linderhof Drive-In Restaurant south of Magnolia. Irene had been a member of the former St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waynesburg, now part of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church. She had served as a Precinct Judge for Rose Township elections for many years, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother for a number of years. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Linder, on Dec. 16, 1978; and a sister and brother, Lucille Rini and William Wanner.
Survived by her daughter, Joyce Linder, of North Canton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Leslie Linder, of North Canton, and Wayne and Martha Linder, of Kent, Ohio; one sister, Margaret Klotz, of Malvern; and one brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Kathleen Wanner, of Magnolia.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert P. Sander officiating. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Irene's memory may be made to Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church, P.O.
