Mary E. Stutzman
age 79, of Wooster, Ohio passed away Saturday morning, July 26, 2014 at the Wooster Community Hospital, Wooster, Ohio. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Church of Millersburg with Dr. Rev. Ken Walther officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the church. Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to LifeCare Hospice, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 or to St. John's Church of Millersburg, 8670 SR 39, Millersburg, Ohio 44654.
Mary was born April 27, 1935 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the daughter of Henry and Eva (Gilt) Berner. On Dec. 17, 1960 she married Atlee E. Stutzman, he survives. Mary had worked in the Insurance Industry as well as Freedlander's in Wooster. She was a home maker and enjoyed gardening and bowling. She loved singing, antiquing, going to auctions and attending her grand children's activities. She was a member of the St. John's Church of Millersburg, where she sang in the churches choir, served as deaconess, was a past member on the missions committee, and was a former director of the children's choir. Mary was also a member of the Holmes Echo Hills Sweet Adelines and the Wayne Patriots of Wooster.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two children, Jody (Tim) Frye of Wooster, Ohio and Matthew Stutzman of Millersburg, Ohio; four grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail Frye, both of Wooster, Ohio and Clay and Jordan Stutzman, both of Millersburg, Ohio; four siblings and their spouses, Shirley (Harold) Stutzman of Zoar, Ohio, Clifford (Roberta) Berner of Wooster, Ohio, Debbie (David) Garver of Lakeville, Ohio and Robin (Rich) Spade of Lakeville, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter-in-law, Marcia Stutzman.
