Julia (Gaudio) Lavkulich passed away unexpectedly at Union Hospital on Feb. 11, 2010.
Julia was born on Oct. 15, 1925, at Sharpsburg, Pa. She attended Steubenville High School and worked as a secretary during World War II for the U.S. War Department. She also worked for LaBelle News Agency in Steubenville, O., for 30 years before retiring in 1989.
Julia and her husband Frank Lavkulich moved to Uhrichsville in 1989, where they lived with their granddaughter, Tina (Lavkulich) Whitman.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lavkulich, who died Jan. 22, 1998, and grandson-in-law, Brian Whitman.
Julia is survived by her son, John Lavkulich and his wife Karen of Hilliard, O.; her granddaughter, Tina (Lavkulich) Whitman and husband Scott Whitman and their children, Luke and Sydney; her grand daughter, Erin (Lavkulich) Alford and husband Brian Alford and their children, Brody and Moss; her granddaughter, Jane (Lavkulich) Whitman and her children, Ally and Jake.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home Inc. at Uhrichsville, O.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Claymont Public Library, 215 E. 3rd St., Uhrichsville, O., 44683.
