Shirley Ann Casella passed on March 9, 2010, in Chapel Hill, N.C. She was 74 years of age.

Shirley was born in Dover, O., and graduated from Dover High School. She was the daughter of John Nigro and Edith Robinson Nigro. She married Ross Casella in 1954 with whom she owned and managed Keystone Honing Corp. for many years. She was an active person who enjoyed golf in her younger years and landscaping in her later years. She enjoyed painting, interior design, going to the movies, and dinner with friends.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Rosalyn Casella of Titusville, Pa.; her son, John Casella of Dover, O.; her sister, Joanne Mathias of Dover, O.; her brother, Nick Nigro of Dover, O.; five grandchildren, Angela Johnson of Kennewick, Wash., Michael Casella of Pittsburgh, Pa., Emily Strong of Parks, Ariz., Benjamin Casella of Pittsburgh, Pa., Avenlea Casella of Charleston, S.C.; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross, and her parents.
A private graveside ceremony will be held in Dover on April 7, 2010.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Tuscarawas County Hospice or the charity of one's choice. Walkers Funeral Home of Chapel Hill, 120 W. Franklin St., Chapel Hill, N.C. 27516, is assisting the Casella family.
