Martha A. Miller
age 102 of Gnadenhutten died Saturday (Dec. 25, 2010) in Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center, Uhrichsville, Ohio. She was born on Aug. 29, 1908 in Washington, Iowa a daughter of the late Robert L. and Addie (Coates) Blick. Martha was a member of the Gnadenhutten Moravian Church, the Evening Circle, and the Gnadenhutten Senior Citizens. She had lived in Fry's Valley for 25 years and moved to Gnadenhutten in 1952. She enjoyed making Beeswax candles at the church, quilting, baking Christmas cookies, and working her vegetable and flower gardens.
Martha is survived by a son, Ralph A. and Ann Miller of Las Cruses, N.M. and a daughter, Virginia Cox of Aurora. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Viola West of Washington, Iowa.
On Aug. 29, 1928 she was married to Arthur E. Miller and he preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1966. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar, Leonard and Ralph Blick, four sisters, Pearl Tucker, Violet Shalla, Gertrude Norton and Eva Blick and a son- in-law, Fred Cox.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (Dec. 29, 2010) at 12 noon in the Gnadenhutten Moravian Church, Rev. Darrell Johnson officiating. Calling hours will be held in the Gnadenhutten Moravian Church Parlor, Wednesday (Dec. 29, 2010) from 10 to 12 noon. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Gnadenhutten Moravian Church.
