age 75, of 490 Green St., Leesville, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday morning, Aug. 17, 2011 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton following a brief illness. Although she was primarily a homemaker, she had, along with her husband, owned and operated the former B & J Sales Bait Shop at Leesville for many years. She was born Oct. 24, 1935 in Island, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Elmer Clair and Anna Mae Barbara Bucisa Hutton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; five sisters; and a great-grandchild. She was a member of both the First Christian Church at Dover and the Family Baptist Church at Bowerston. Barbara was an enthusiastic collector of many items, but was partial to ornamental bells and teapots. She was a knowledgeable gardener who enjoyed growing both flowers and vegetables, but was always particularly proud of the large tomatoes she was able to produce. In her quiet time, she welcomed the challenge of completing crossword puzzles. She and her husband, Jim shared many activities together, but they created many of their favorite memories while going hunting and fishing together.
She is survived by her husband, James Edward Snyder, Sr. whom she married Feb. 3, 1956; her three sons and two daughters, James E. (Janet) Snyder, Jr. of Sherrodsville, Ohio, Kenneth D. Snyder of Carrollton, Ohio, Robert E. (Martha) Snyder of Vo-Ash Lake, Carrollton, Mrs. Michael (Evelyn) Biddlestone, Sr. of Uhrichsville, Ohio, and Mrs. Keith (Lorri) Mizer of Mineral City, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Danielle Snyder and James E. Snyder, III, both of Sherrodsville, Jimmy Stringer of Dennison, Ohio, Thomas Snyder of Malvern, Ohio, Jennifer (nee) Snyder of Canton, Ohio, Michael Biddlestone, Jr. of Midvale, Ohio, Devan Billman of Dennison, and Matthew William Mizer of Mineral City; seven step-grandchildren, Mrs. Eric (Karina) Blaine of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Christopher Mizer and Alan Mizer, both of Dover, Ohio, Scott Knight, David and James Kovac, and Jonaton Walter, all of Canton, Ohio; six great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren. Barbara was raised as one of a family of 18 children, and is also survived by her family of brothers and sisters which include, Elmer Clair "Mike" (Sue) Hutton, Jr. of Atoka, Tenn., Richard Leroy (Mary Ann) Hutton of Oak View, Calif., Mary Jane Pierce of Coudersport, Pa., Ronald Clair Hutton of Wooster, Ohio, Harvey Eugene (Ella) Hutton of Big Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Tom (Sandra Leigh) Rockhold of Wooster, Terry Lee Hutton of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Mike (Carol Sue) Woodruff of Wooster and Alan Craig Hutton of Big Prairie, Ohio.
A Memorial Service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 in the Dover First Christian Church, 3029 N. Wooster Avenue, Dover, Ohio with Dr. Gene Keplinger and Pastor Chris Mulpas officiating. In accordance with Barbara's wishes, there are no calling hours scheduled and her earthly body has been cremated. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville is handling arrangements.
