Delbert Patterson Obituary

Delbert C. "Pat" Patterson
93 of Weirton, W.Va. passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. He was born May 17, 1919 in Dennison, Ohio, the son of the late John R. and Pearl Marie Baker Patterson. He was also preceded in death by a brother; Earl D. Patterson. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a US Army, World War II veteran, VFW Post No. 2716, 25 year club of Weirton Steel Company, and a retiree of the Army reserves. Pat retired in 1983 as a turn foreman in the strip steel of National Steel Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Leidner Patterson, whom he married in Dennison, Ohio on Nov. 26, 1949; son, Scott Patterson (Patricia) and their son, Jackson Patterson, all of Herndon, Va.; sister, Virginia Phillips of Weirton, W.Va.; brother, John L. "Tod" Patterson of New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Visitation will be at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 3721 Main Street, Weirton, W.Va. Thursday 5-8 where funeral services will be held Friday 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Tim Conrad presiding. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Military funeral honors will be provided by Weirton Honor Guard and the West Virginia Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 3301 West Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
