Thomas Harold
age 67, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, under the care of Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia, following a lengthy battle with Leukemia. A son of Marian B. (Herd) Adams of New Philadelphia and the late Harold W. Adams, Tom was born at Conneaut, Ohio on Oct. 2, 1945. He was a 1964 graduate of Rowe High School at Conneaut and entered into the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Independence and proudly served his country until his discharge in 1969. For a number of years, Tom was employed by the former Cubby Drilling Company as a truck driver, where he earned the nickname, "T-Truck". He later drove for a number of companies throughout the Tuscarawas Valley and out of state, prior to joining Enterprise Transportation based in Houston, Texas where he has been employed for the past 15 years. Tom had a work ethic which was second to none and loved being on the road, which gave him the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and see many things others have not. Growing up on a farm, Tom learned to keep a garden and grow his own vegetables, he also enjoyed guns, and Jeeps and in his spare time, hunting, fishing and trapshooting with his nephew.
In addition to his mother, Tom is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Earl) Anderson of Stone Creek; two grandchildren, PFC Paul M. (Ashley) Anderson, who is currently serving the U.S. Army abroad at Weisbaden, Germany and Amber Anderson; two sisters, Patricia Anderson of Millersburg and Peggy (Emery) Brumit of Stone Creek and a brother, Roger (Barbara) Adams of Millersburg. Completing the family are one nephew and three nieces and their families.
In keeping with Tom's wishes, there will be no public services. Cremation care has been conducted by Geib's Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover with private burial to take place in Greenlawn Cemetery at North Kingsville, Ohio.
