Pauline A. Norris
91, of Bolivar, died Sunday April 21, 2013 at 8:09 p.m. in Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar after an extended illness. Born Aug. 13, 1921 in Cleveland she was the daughter of the late Carl and Hattie (Zirnstein) Imhof. She retired in 1982 from Tuscarawas Valley Schools as an English teacher after 25 plus years. She was an active member at St. John United Church of Christ at Bolivar for over 60 years where she served on various committees including the women's guild and the Christian Education Committee. She served as a trustee on the Tuscarawas County Library Board, member of the Bolivar Study Club for over 40 years and was a life member of Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She also assisted her husband in managing the operation of Norris Orchards at Bolivar for over 40 years. Pauline was an avid reader and enjoyed poetry. Her husband, Paul E. Norris, with whom she was married for over 61 years, preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2007.
She is survived by three children, Nancy (Charles) Haarlammert of Goshen, Ohio, Curtis (Charlotte) Norris of Zeeland, Mich. And Joy (Lawrence) Wierzbowski of Bryn Mawr, Pa.; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel and Anna Norris and Scott and Jennifer Haarlammert; four great-grandchildren, Megan, Julianna and Jack Haarlammert and Avery Norris; and a sister-in-law, Thelma Starkey of Bolivar. She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Imhof and two sisters, Joyce Kulhanek and Ruth Rettig.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. in St. John United Church of Christ, 409 Park Ave., Bolivar. Rev. Melodie Rezac will officiate and burial will follow in Fort Laurens Cemetery at Bolivar. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lebold-Smith Funeral Home, 248 Park Ave. Bolivar and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. John United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 156, Bolivar, OH 44612, Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County or the .
