Charles Walter Crawford, Sr.
79, of Malvern, passed away, Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 at his home. Charles was born in Malvern, Ohio on July 1, 1934, a son of the late Mildred (Wetzel) and Victor Crawford. He served in the U.S. Navy as a 3rd class Ship Serviceman during the Korean War. He retired in 1996 from PCC Airfoils after 31 1/2 years. He was a 1952 graduate of Malvern High School, a Little League Coach for 35 years, and he coached Hot Stove for five years, winning a State Title in 2001.
Charles is survived by two sons, Victor C. Crawford III, of Malvern, Charles W. (Viola) Crawford Jr., of Malvern; grandchildren, Melody (Anthony) Cobb of Malvern, Sgt. Matthew (Jen) Crawford of Germany, Marcus Crawford of Louisville, Jessica White of Malvern; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Victor Crawford Jr., of Augusta. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sonja Crawford; and two daughters, Cheryl and Amanda Crawford.
Funeral services will be held in the Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 with Rev. A Wallace Anderson officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may express condolences online at our website:
