Thelma Stocker Obituary
91, of West Lafayette died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 at Lafayette Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born Feb. 13, 1923 in Tuscarawas Co. to the late Alvie Shurtz and Reba (Gardner) Best. She was formerly employed at Smitty's Meat Market, March Electric and NCR. She was a member of Peoples Church. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, Bingo, playing piano, holding babies, and card games. On July 27, 1940, she married Earl Stocker who passed away on Feb. 8, 1985.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Stocker and Larry (Patti) Stocker all of West Lafayette; seven grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; and 12 great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Mike Stocker; a brother, Jack; a sister, Doris; and her step-father, Floyd Best.
Services will be Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014 at 11a.m. at Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown with Pastor Jason Diaz officiating. Burial will follow in Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Addy Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Tridia Hospice 4680 Douglas Cir. NW, Canton, OH 44718.
