Donald Vanfossen Obituary
Age 81, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at residence, following a lengthy illness.
Born on February 12, 1936 in Dennison, Donald was the son of the late Emerson H. and Hilma (Albaugh) Vanfossen. In 1955, Donald graduated from Dennison High School and was employed at the City of New Philadelphia Street Department until his retirement in 1999. He also served in the National Guard. Donald enjoyed woodworking, fishing and watching football on TV.
In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Vanfossen. On August 1, 1958, Donald married Wilma D. (Bucey) Vanfossen, who survives of the home. Also surviving are their children, Ray A. Vanfossen and Lydia K. (Mike) Blair, all of New Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Makala and Tiffany Blair.
Memorial services for Donald will be held at 7 p.m., on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home in Uhrichsville, with the Pastor Bill Johns officiating. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., (two hours prior to services) on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the funeral home.
