Dr. Paul E. Clark Jr., 69, Pontiac, formerly of Watseka, died at 2:14 a.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at ASTA Care Center of Pontiac.
He was born March 7, 1941, in Metropolis, the son of Paul and Lilly Melcher Clark.
Mr. Clark served in the U.S. Army.
Dr. Clark, who many affectionately called "Doc", worked for the Donovan School system for 38 years as a chorus and social studies teacher and chess team sponsor as well as the business manager. He served as the pianist for the Watseka Methodist Church and worked with the Watseka Show Choirs for many years. He also spent time working with the Iroquois West and Prairie Central Choirs. Dr. Clark spent his time writing and performing music as well as instilling music into the hearts and minds of the young people he came into contact with.
He is survived by special friend Jason (Laura) Strough, Forrest; two cousins, Mary Ramsey, Metropolis, and Robert Gowins, Reidland, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church.
Funerals cervices will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rev. Paul Copeland officiating.
Burial will be at at later date in Metropolis.
