Luther Montgomery Obituary
Besides his wife, Dee, he is also survived by one son, David Montgomery of Pittsburgh, PA; one daughter, Jennifer (Nathan) Tegtmeyer of Watseka; two grandchildren, Lauren and Reed Tegtmeyer of Watseka; two sisters, Helen (Kenneth) Vaught of Hastings, MI and Brenda Spencer of Frankfort, KY; and one brother, Robert (Joyce) Montgomery of Battle Ground, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Montgomery served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watseka. Luke was also a member and Past President of Shewami Country Club and Monticello Jaycees as well as a member of Lions Club, Watseka Elks, and Cissna Park American Legion. He played on the 1955 Terre Haute Babe Ruth World Series team. Luke worked in the banking industry for over forty years and was Sr. Vice President at Watseka 1st National Bank and subsequently Capstone Bank where he served on the board of directors. He loved his family very much.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Watseka. Rev. Robert Sabo will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka with military graveside rites by Cissna Park American Legion Post #527.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka as well as one hour prior to the funeral services on Friday at church.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or First United Methodist Church in Watseka.

Dearest Dee, David and Jennifer,
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We loved working with Luke at the bank. He always had our best interest in mind. Loved his one liners and sense of humor as well. It should bring you all peace knowing he touched so many lives. Blessings and Peace to the Montgomery family.....
