Patricia M. Ledderboge, age 86, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014, quietly at home.
On May 13, 1927 in Iroquois, IL, she was born the daughter of James and Birdie McCarty.
Patricia was a member of the First United Methodist Church, which she loved, and the Shorewood Forest Philanthropic Club. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, writing and travel. Patricia was the valedictorian of her 1945 Donovan (Illinois) High School graduating class. She received a bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Olivet College and a master's degree from University of Illinois. She realized a dream by earning her private pilot's license when she was in her fifties.
Patricia married her first husband Donald Anderson and together they had a son, Michael (Lisa) Anderson of Oxford, MI who survives. Also surviving is a grandson, Shawn Anderson, and sister, Doris Wood of Bourbonnais, IL. Later, in 1983, she married Clifford Ledderboge and they remained married until his passing in 2000.
Following cremation a memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 11a.m. to 1 p.m., with the memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. both at First United Methodist Church, 103 Franklin St., Valparaiso, IN, with Pastor Jacob Williams officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Porter County Animal Shelter, 2056 Heavilin Rd., Valparaiso, IN 46385.
