Condolences to the Bartko family on the passing of Danny. I am so glad we visited with him last summer. We had a wonderful visit and he had been helpful with information about our family tree. His father and my grandfather were brothers and both families lived by one another in Robbinsville, NJ. He lived a good life and will be missed. Jeanette and John Lookadoo

To Uncle Dan's family and friends,
Our family group is pretty far removed, living out in California (sister Irene's son, originally from Trenton). Uncle Joe (Butch) called with the sad news.
It was wonderful that so many former students shared their memories and posted photos. Looking at his school pics, you could see he was having fun every day, and sharing it with all - the secret of being a great teacher.
To me, Uncle Dan was very quiet and unassuming, but his strength shined through. He endured much back in WWII but came back strong and loving to his family and friends.
Will miss you, Sir!
With best wishes-

I was very sorry I could not be at Mr.Bartko's service, but he was always a wonderful example of how one should lead one's life.I always admired for his faith, willingness to work, and how he kept going strong even as the years passes by. He will truly be missed but what a wonderful example he left us.

He was my science teacher for all 4 grades of high school - earth science, biology (my favorite), chemistry and physics. A great teacher!

Mr.Bartko was an inspiring teacher.I remember our night "classes" of learning the names of the constellations and stars.Few students can say they had the best teachers that really cared and loved to share their knowledge with their students as we did.

Mr. Bartko was a wonderful teacher who hoped that his students enjoyed learning as much as he enjoyed teaching.
Many fond memories are recalled of better times spent with Dan, Edith and Steve who lived next door to us in
Sheldon.
A favorite memory is one particular Christmas when Santa delivered a radio tuned into air traffic who spotted "reindeer tracks" and "Santa sightings" throughout the Midwest.
May cherished memories be of comfort to you during this difficult time.

Mr. Bartko taught me and plus your Mother taught me at Sheldon! I am sure it's been difficult to let them both go. I am trying to forward this to your Sheldon neighbor Cindy Eagle. Sending sympathy and prayers

It is with deep sadness that we had to say good bye to Dan this weekend! He was such a great man. Generous in his giving to others and to the church. Just two weeks ago he read the scripture for worship! He was a very real support to Miriam, and to all those around him. I know that he is resting in the arms of the God he loved and that loved him! I pray the Holy Spirit will comfort us who remain on this earth for now. Cecil Donahue
