Elmer Everin Figg, 90, Iroquois, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at Watseka Helathcare Center.
He was born November 30, 1922, in Bucktown, Ind., a son of Charles Elmer Figg and Gertrude Mae Price.
He worked for the Railroad Signal Department for New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail.
He was a Mason, a member of the VFW in Watseka, and a member of the Donovan American Legion. He also enjoyed woodworking, reading and history.
He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-laws: Elmer Irvin "Irv" and Wendy Figg of Vancouver, B.C. and Dennis and Dawn Figg of Iroquois; two daughters and one son-in-law: Judith Smith of El Paso, Illinois, and Susan and G. Stephen Frease of Carterville, Illinois; grandchildren, Wesley Smith, Jennifer Kohlrus, Alexandre Frease, Christopher Frease, Patrick Frease, and Bailey Figg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one son-in-law, Dan Smith.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Baier Funeral Home.
Officiating will be Pastor Bobbi Schultz.
Burial will be in Prairie Dell Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Donor's Choice.
