Doc was a good man, a great musician, and a wonderful soul. He now plays piano for the Angels.

"Doc" was my teacher, my mentor and my Friend. He was there throughout my teenage years to lend me the benefit of his experience, to guide me and to listen when I just needed a sounding board. The most giving person I have ever known, his generosity knew no bounds. I met him in my 7th grade year as he became my chess coach and taught me the game I love then and today. When I recently visited with him in Pontiac, I was able to share with him how I had become the chess coach at my daughters elementary school and that none of that may have happened had it not been for his impact on my life. My kids at school all know about "Doc" and all the adventures we had traveling all over the midwest and east coast playing in tournaments. He was also my High School Music instuctor heading up the Donovan Madrigals for several years. All of these memories have enriched my life Immeasurably. I would not have graduated from high school had it not been for his help and arm bending of the principal to allow me to take some extra courses to get all my credits I needed and then coming to the hospital to give me my constitution test after I fell ill my final weeks of school. And finally, he was an absolute direct influence on my spiritual growth which was his greatest gift to me. Because of this last thing I am happiest for I know I will see him again someday and I will be able to tell him again "I Love You Doc"

"Doc"....My teacher in High School and always a friend in years after. Such a talented, and creative man. Gentle in nature and kind to all...to watch him play piano was it's own symphony that could go on tirelessly for hours. I know that you are welcome in your new home, and will be missed terribly here.

We met Paul at ASTA Care, as he and my father were room-mates. He was a very nice man. We will keep you in our prayers. Mark, Lori, and Dena Boatman. (Pontiac, IL)

Paul was a member of our family and until we moved to Houston, we spent every holiday together and ate very nearly every meal together for at least twenty-five years. We will miss him.
