Robert (Bob) Tibbetts, 88, of Watseka passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
Bob was born September 8, 1925 in Danville, IL, the son of George P. and Anna E. Keck Tibbetts.  He married Elizabeth "Betty" Wielert on May 3, 1947 in Sheldon and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2010.
He is survived by one daughter, Marcia (Barry) Craft of Watseka; two sons, Tom (Marilyn) Tibbetts of Watseka and Ron (Vandy) Tibbetts of Mount Pleasant, SC; five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edward Tibbetts; one sister, LaVon Thompson; and one daughter, Terri George. 
Mr. Tibbetts was a member of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge #2059 in Kankakee as well as Watseka American Legion Post #23 and Iroquois County VFW Post #7450. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.  Bob worked at A.O. Smith as a Press Operator for 34 years.
Visitation will be from be from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Rev. Wayne Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at Prairie Dell Cemetery in Iroquois. Military rites will be provided by the Watseka American Legion Post #23 and Iroquois County VFW Post #7450.
